Every organization should aim to become a "memory-making business"

It is not a surprise to anyone that professional sport teams are not about sport anymore. And anywhere this is more obvious than in the US sports business.

Florida Marlins President explained this very clearly while talking about the brand new stadium which was ready to open the new baseball season:

"We are in the memory-making business and we want to win games, obviously but what we hope this ball park is it will create memories, for kids, and their parents and their grand parents. So every little detail we pay attention to is for the sole purpose of making a memory".

What if all organizations had this purpose and reason of being? What if they were in the business of making people's life better? What if your customers' dreams and ideals where more important than the next quarter results? What if you could touch someone in such a way that such experience lingers in somebody's mind for many years later? How do you help everybody in the organization have this mindset? What do you recruit people that can empathize with people and bring a humanistic approach to every single thing they do?
